Daunte Culpepper’s Bizarro Injury

Most bizzaro injury of the NFL season so far? Daunte Culpepper’s foot injury. The veteran QB snagged himself eight stitches in one of his rather considerably sized tootsies in a freak domestic incident. So he must have trodden on a knife right? Or perhaps broken glass?

Maybe angry mice conspired in the dead of night and chewed away at his little pinkies. Nah, none of those explanations are even close to how weird this is. Apparently he “sort of stubbed” his foot on some carpet, according to his Head Coach Jim Schwarz.

Sort of stubbed? Eight freakin stitches because he “sort of stubbed”? What’s his carpet made of? Fibre glass and dynamite?

Perhaps it’s was Schwarz’s 2nd draft of the press statement. The first being :”Daunte pulled out a 44 Magnum, aimed it at his foot, and fired. No? Ok, lets go with the toe, carpet thing”

Daunte, if you’re going to have one carpet related injury in your life, don’t waste it on that. You’re an NFL player for goodness sake. You must have Playboy playmates throwing themselves at you!

If that’s what happens when he sort of stubs, I’d hate to see him the result of him giving something “a damn good kicking”. Mind you, as a Lion, that’s hardly likely this season!
